"Sorry to everyone in Scotland but I won't be able to make it there this week" said Farah.
"I hope to resume training in the next few days and aim to run in the London Anniversary Games on 20 July and then the Commonwealth Games the following week."
He was admitted to the hospital in the US with abdominal pains last week. Farah, who is now having further tests in the UK this week due to the race over two miles in Hampden Park.
As he said, he remains confident of being fit enough to join the Glasgow Commonwealth Games later this month and confirms that in June, he would compete for England for both the 5,000m and 10,000m at Glasgow 2014
