Social Media Website Vine Faces Copyright issues with FIFA

The social media app Vine (under Twitter) came under fire recently as 6 second video loops of World Cup footage were (to no surprise) uploaded and shared on the app. Vine is now facing copyright and trademark threat as the uploaded footage are being taken down one by one.

In my opinion, this happening has shown that social media websites must be very careful with the way they are used and publicized in relation to major sport events. Sport events are usually protected by copyright so social media websites should issue certain warnings to its users to prevent this from occurring again.
